Edition of 20

Printed and published by Atelier JI

Adam Taylor, Estuary — thick dark green meandering brushstrokes winding across a dusty pink ground with copper-stained edges.

How it’s Made: Autographic Printmaking

Adam Taylor’s Swimming Lanes and Estuary screenprints were produced from positives hand-painted by Taylor for the occasion, extending his practice from his studio to ours.

Screenprinting requires the creation of stencils from positive images on transparent sheets. When creating autographic screenprints, artists can create entirely original artworks specific to the medium. By drawing, painting, and splattering, the artists' mark-making vocabularies are evidenced in the printed layers of each edition.
