The Satellite of Love series was inspired by Lou Reed’s song, beautiful and immaculate in its composition but fuelled by jealousy and torment.
Narielwalla chose a section of the pattern in a circle shape focusing on multiple intricate lines which were highlighted in the negative of these mono prints. The final outcome a circle metamorphic that changes as the eye follows the lines and marks within the circle. The viewer questions if they see an object - a celestial globe, or a dark hold looking into a vortex. The Mono prints produced in 27 colour iterations like the song sound calm, however, the central bridge explodes with the reality of the narrator's pain. He sings about learning that his partner has been unfaithful with multiple other men.
