Published by CIRCA on the occasion of Three Mirrors (2026), Preventive Peace Flags is a new series of twelve hand-signed works by Michelangelo Pistoletto. Screen printed on mirror-polished stainless steel and produced in editions of 150, each work brings two colours into relation to generate a third according to the artist's enduring formula: 1+1=3.
Centred on the Third Paradise symbol, the series reflects Pistoletto's vision of a renewed balance between nature and the artificial world. Two distinct colours sit at either end of the trinamic form and converge to create a third at its centre, making visible the Formula of Creation that has informed the artist's practice for decades. Presented on bespoke aluminium subframes, the works are designed to be displayed without the need for framing.
Produced in collaboration with Fondazione Pistoletto Cittadellarte, Preventive Peace Flags supports public and educational initiatives, including a contribution to the United Nations CERF.
